Peterborough Racial Equality Council (PREC)
Peterborough Racial Equality Council (PREC) is a voluntary organisation and a registered charity, first established in 1974.
Over the past 30 years we have worked and continue to work with individuals and organisations locally, regionally and nationally with the aim of eliminating racial discrimination, harassment and prejudice between people of different racial, cultural and faith groups.
We provide information and advice on equal opportunities, the race relations act, equality issues and community cohesion, carried out through one to one contact, campaigns, events and project work.
Our advice and casework services support those who suffer racial discrimination and harassment, arising from employment, housing, crime, education and service provision.
We also provide advice and casework support for immigration, nationality and European law, this covers visa extensions, indefinite leave to remain, residence permits and British citizenship.
As a charity, this work could not be carried out without funding support, currently provided by Peterborough City Council.
