Peterborough Racial Equality Council (PREC) is a voluntary organisation and a registered charity, first established in 1974. 2014 was our 40th anniversary.
Over the past 40 years we have worked and continue to work with individuals and organisations locally, regionally and nationally with the aim of eliminating racial discrimination, harassment and prejudice between people of different racial, cultural and faith groups. This important work was honoured in 2011, when we received the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, the MBE for Voluntary Groups.
We provide information and advice on equal opportunities, the race relations act, equality issues and community cohesion, carried out through one to one contact, campaigns, events and project work.
